Blackboard Collaborate Ultra

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra provides a full-featured, web collaboration capability. Usage varies from virtual meetings to hybrid and online learning. It is designed for synchronous and asynchronous communication, collaboration, and learning that can be used for:

 

  • Online learning or face to face classrooms
  • Virtual meetings
  • Content sharing
  • Recording – available to download in MP4 format
  • Polling
  • Live chat
  • Breakout groups
  • Up to 250 participants

 

Access to Bb Collaborate Ultra can be gained through Blackboard Learn or directly through a web interface.

 

The telephony feature of Collaborate Ultra can be used outside of the browser as a standalone phone bridge. The host or session moderator will provide the phone number and temporary access PIN. Up to 25 telephone attendees can call into a session. If the maximum number of dial-in attendees has been reached, nobody else can call in.

Skype for Business

Skype for business is a unified communications (UC) platform that integrates common channels of business communication and online meetings, including instant messaging (IM), presence, voice over IP (VoIP), voicemail, file transfers, video conferencing, web conferencing and email.

 

Skype allows screen sharing, chat, record, PPT presentations.

Those outside of our network can join via Skype by sending them a link.

Only VOiP is available for the audio portion, no phone connections.

 

Skype for Business will be replaced by Teams in June 2021. Additional information will follow in summer 2020.
