NDUS ERP 360 Origins and Goals
ERP360 2023-2024
Core Technology Services (CTS), in collaboration with NDUS campuses, conducted a multi-month market analysis of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The current ERP system has been in use since 2002. The ERP plays a critical role in supporting business operations across NDUS campuses, departments, and functional areas. It supports Financials (FIN), Human Capital Management (HCM), the Student Information System (SIS), and related ancillary systems.
The purpose of the ERP360 Market Analysis was to better understand current trends and developments in ERP solutions within higher education. The analysis examined the strengths and limitations of the existing system, reviewed alternative ERP solutions available in the market, and evaluated how potential solutions could integrate with existing NDUS systems.
Market Analysis Objectives
The ERP 360 Market Analysis was designed to achieve the following objectives:
- Conduct a current-state assessment of the existing ERP system in partnership with the awarded consultant, Peak Performance technologies
- Identify ERP solutions in the higher education market and align with NDUS business needs and financial considerations through a value assessment
- Evaluate the potential benefits and challenges associated with implementing a new ERP system
- Assess implementation risks and identify strategies to mitigate those risks
- Estimate implementation costs and develop a preliminary implementation approach to inform a future legislative budget request
The data collected through this analysis supports informed, evidence-based decision-making and helps ensure that any future ERP solution aligns with the needs of all NDUS campuses. If the findings indicate that a new system is needed, the market analysis will also inform the development of a detailed and well-defined Request for Proposal (RFP).
